Inspiring the next generation

13 Nov 2019 · 1 min read

In November, AmazeRealise once again took part in BIMA Digital Day 2019.

Is it really a year since the last BIMA Digital Day? The time may have flown but it’s still an important day in our diary and a chance for us to give something back to a brilliant industry.

Basically, the day involves experts from around the country going into schools around the country to inspire students with the possibilities of a career in digital. Around 5,000 13-16 year olds benefit from meeting and talking to those who have taken advantage of the many opportunities available. There was also the chance to tackle an exciting challenge set by brand sponsors.

A great day

We had many volunteers who teamed up with students at Shooters Hill Campus in London, Craigmount High School in Edinburgh and The King's School Macclesfield. This year, students had challenges set from Wimbledon, Microbit & WLL and EPAM.

All those who took part seemed to revel the experience, even though the results of the challenges are not yet known.

“We had a fantastic time on BIMA Digital Day,” says Joelle Dunne, Senior Account Director in our Manchester office. “Not only were the kids fully engaged but it helped us realise how lucky we are to be working in such a dynamic business. They had some really brilliant ideas and I’m looking forward to working with some of them in a few years time!”

Our students had a brilliant day and I’m sure it has inspired quite a few of them to pursue a career in digital. It was great to have people from AmazeRealise who could give them a real insight into what their future job could involve.
