HR Advisor

The Edinburgh based HR Advisor will be required to deliver a proactive and flexible HR service by providing relevant and appropriate HR support to all employees and managers, whilst driving best practice and ensuring compliance with all company procedures, documented policies and employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support line managers with performance management, resourcing and staff development
  • Advise hiring managers on recruitment and selection strategies
  • Coordinate the appointment process for successful applicants
  • Organise and conduct new starter inductions
  • Manage the leaver process and conduct staff exit interviews
  • Provide HR advice on policies, procedures and legislation
  • Process staff leave requirements including maternity, paternity and annual leave
  • Consult on issues related to workplace relations
  • Inform employees of their rights and entitlements and keep them up to date on any changes that are made
  • Train line managers on company and legislative procedures
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices
  • Ensure all payroll changes are communicated to payroll department
  • Maintain and advise on all employee benefits
  • Handle HR matters reliably and confidentially and in accordance with legal requirements
  • Comply with Information Security requirements at all times
  • Any other Ad Hoc duties as and when required


Essential Requirements

  • Working towards or at level 5 CIPD qualification
  • Generalist HR experience
  • Knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures
  • Ability to deal with all work in a confidential manner
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to foster effective working relationships at all levels
  • Knowledge of the best practice on recruitment and selection
  • Experience in interpreting, advising and implementing such agreements and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify development needs
  • Confidence to work across all levels of the business
  • Experience in implementing new initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to identify development needs

  • Strong knowledge of MS office

You will be joining a hardworking, close knit team of HR professionals and administrators across all of our office locations in London, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Manchester.
