The Role

  • Opportunity to work on a large-scale travel eCommerce website within a tightly regulated industry.
  • Reporting to the Account Technical Director, you’ll be working remotely with a small team of highly experienced developers and testers, who work exclusively on this account, to deliver new features and enhancements.
  • You will maintain a key focus on the scalability and performance of the solution, understanding the existing patterns and techniques used to achieve this.
  • You will be using your extensive experience to ensure projects are completed on time and budget.

The Team

  • The team are passionate about the solution and have a combined experience of over 15 years working on projects within the account. Their experience and passion will assist you in quickly gaining a full understanding of the solution and delivering robust and maintainable code.

Role Responsibilities

  • Implementation of new features and enhancements to provided specifications.
  • Challenging specifications where there are opportunities for additional improvements.
  • Regular reporting of progress and issues to the technical team.
  • Reviewing code for performance, security, functionality and maintainability.
  • Following data security best practices.
  • Working with technical and QA teams to diagnose and resolve issues with new or existing code.

Skills & Experience

  • You’ll have a deep understanding of the Web front-end ecosystem and can turn your hand to complex work in this area. You can make the front-end teams lives as easy as possible as a matter of course.
  • You’re familiar with good practices for distributed systems integration and performance, and on engineering - with a security-first mindset
  • You’ll have experience of agile-inspired delivery, based around DSDM, Scrum or Kanban methods and are confident in using Jira. You’ll also have an awareness of most of the typical CI/CD stuff (we prefer git, Octopus and TeamCity for .NET work)
  • Ideally, you will have previous agency experience and know what to expect and how to deal with the various pressures and will have experience leading and/or delivering work that’s been shipped on an Epi or Sitecore DX platform.
  • You will have experience in developing within a Microsoft-focused web architecture and will have an understanding of the typical MarTech architectures, tools and technologies that form a DXP estate , in addition to Cloud technologies (such as Azure or AWS)
  • You’ll have great interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. You’ll have made mistakes and learned from them and will be open to sharing your experiences and helping others to learn, develop and improve.
