On BIMA Digital Day last November AmazeRealise headed back to school. Our mission was to inspire the future talent of the industry and raise awareness of the endless opportunities which exist in digital.
The day sees digital professionals spend time with over 5,000 13-16 year olds to give them an insight into the depth and breadth of careers available in digital, with hands-on experience tackling exciting challenges set by brand sponsors.
We teamed up with students at Westminster Academy in London, Craigmount High School in Edinburgh and UTC @Media City in Manchester to work on the challenges.
Whilst the day is about is learning and inspiring the next generation, winning is always the icing on the cake. We’re happy to report that one of our teams has clinched the prize for the FA Challenge.
Congratulations to the talented students at Westminster Academy – Niveah, Ka Lam, Atina and Amir – who impressed the judges with their innovative approach and creative thinking. Their brilliant campaign idea involved a Virtual Reality kick-up competition to build interest in women’s football and encourage girls to get involved with their local club.
As the winning team, the students will get the opportunity to attend a workshop with the FA to see how they can develop the group's idea and ultimately bring it to life. They also won £500 for their school.
“We had a fantastic time at Westminster Academy on BIMA Digital Day,” says Ian Stromsmoe, Business Director at AmazeRealise. “All of our teams enjoyed the experience and learned a lot. The students were really engaged with the whole agenda and so excited about the challenges – and there was some healthy rivalry between the groups!”
Lucy Caufield, a Strategist at AmazeRealise, also enjoyed the experience. “It was great to see how interesting the group found each task and all excelled when put to the challenge,” she says. “It was deeply satisfying to see their ideas and how they evolved throughout the day.”
